The Tale of the “Harold” – A two day intensive workshop

The Tale of the "Harold" - A two day intensive workshop

Uncovering the three-beat structure, an introduction to some longform origins.
Enjoy this intensive look at what is considered the first “modern-day” (non-linear) longform structure. Inspired off of organic improvised play, after finding what consistently worked and what didn’t, the Harold was designed as a way to teach folks this modern form of collaborative and connection based improvisation. Using the three beat structure, folks learn strong scene work, finding patterns (“game”), heightening, building worlds & making connections. This format is incredible practice for any style of creative expression as it develops a strong sense of creating a well-rounded and full experience. For the improvisor it will turn your mindset from “point A to point B” to “watch me get back to E, L, Q and then A”. Level up your longform.
Recommended for Intermediate to Advanced players. Improvisors who are already comfortable with two person scene work and ensemble driven performance. It is also open to any improviser ready for challenging, concept-driven work.
